"Chen Haonan, Mountain Chicken..." those who have watched the Hong Kong movie "Fight Back to School" all know these names. However, after watching this film, Ye Yun, a 23-year-old young man from Rongchang, started to yearn for the life of a troublemaker like in the movie, and actually went on to hurt someone. On September 3rd this year, the Rongchang County Court sentenced Ye Yun to one year in prison for intentional injury, with a one-year reprieve.
Running to school to beat someone up
On March 1st, 2009, it was the birthday of Liu Bo, a student from a certain middle school. To celebrate his birthday, Liu Bo and five of his close classmates went to the roller rink to skate. Since Liu Bo's skills were good, he occasionally performed some "high-difficulty" moves, drawing enthusiastic cheers from his classmates. This scene made Ye Yun, who was standing nearby, very irritated, so he decided to teach him a lesson.
Speaking of Ye Yun, this 23-year-old young man's greatest hobby was pretending to be a troublemaker. Ever since he watched the Hong Kong movie "Fight Back to School", he thought the gangsters inside were quite cool.
Not far from the roller rink, Ye Yun and his few hooligan friends intercepted Liu Bo and his group. Before they could finish talking, Liu Bo was slapped...
The next day, Ye Yun brought three more brothers to Liu Bo's school.
He pointed at Liu Bo and told his brothers "It's him", while at that moment Liu Bo was reading a book in the classroom, not having reacted yet, Ye Yun lifted a stool to hit Liu Bo, but was stopped by his classmates together. Due to the arrival of the school security, Ye Yun hurriedly fled.
March 6th, 2009, was the day when boarding students had their vacation. Liu Bo boarded a bus to go home, never expecting Ye Yun to be waiting for him.
Liu Bo got off the bus, and Ye Yun chased him with a knife. In a small alley, Liu Bo was slashed twice by Ye Yun and fell to the ground. Afterwards, Ye Yun took the money and ran away from home without telling anyone.
After being diagnosed by the hospital, Liu Bo had a fracture of the lateral epicondyle of the left humerus, laceration of the skin and soft tissue of the left elbow, rupture of the muscles of the left elbow, and damage to the left nerve. The final conclusion was: Liu Bo's injuries constituted minor injuries.
Life as a beggar after fleeing
After knowing that their son had injured Liu Bo, Ye Yun's parents went to the hospital to visit Liu Bo, apologized to Liu Bo and his family, and reached a compensation agreement with Liu Bo's parents, voluntarily paying 7,000 yuan for nutrition fees. Liu Bo forgave Ye Yun and promised not to pursue his criminal responsibility.
Life was not easy for Ye Yun on the run. Not long after arriving in Chengdu, the money he brought quickly ran out. Having no skills and no work experience, after selling all the valuable things on him including his mobile phone, he had no choice but to live a life similar to a beggar. During the day, he looked everywhere for leftover food from others, and at night, he slept on benches in squares or parks. He was once beaten by a beggar while fighting over food.
"The moment I saw the police car, I was extremely scared." After much hesitation, on April 1st last year, Ye Yun called home.
On April 3rd, Ye Yun's parents came to Chengdu. At that time, Ye Yun's clothes were dirty and torn, his hair messy, and his eyes had fresh red bloodshot veins. Seeing this, his parents hugged him and cried bitterly. That day, they returned to Rongchang, and his parents accompanied him to surrender himself.
No blind worship
"Being influenced by 'very yellow very violent' films and TV shows, online games, etc., from a young age is an important inducement for juvenile delinquency," said prosecutor Zhang Jie from the Rongchang County Procuratorate. Adolescents have weaker ability to distinguish right from wrong, stronger self-awareness and imitation abilities. Faced with scenes of murder and violence on TV and the internet, they may understand them from their own perspective, seeing cruel criminals as heroes with courage and righteousness. This psychological deviation is an inducement to juvenile crime.
Especially the "hero idols" inside, they easily develop feelings of admiration and try hard to imitate their outfits and behaviors, indulging in killing and fighting, and eventually send themselves down the path of crime.
"The power of role models is infinite," said Zhang Jie. Now, activities such as singing red songs, reading classics, telling stories, passing on wise sayings, etc., can well guide adolescents and become their strong spiritual force.
