[Exclusive Report by Xinmin Web] At around 7:15 AM today, Xinmin Web received a tip from a citizen that an out-of-town 19-year-old girl, suspected to be involved in a love triangle dispute, argued with two men and then jumped into the Haoqiao River from the Wusong Gas Factory Bridge located at Changjiang Road and Songnan Road in an attempt to take her own life.
Mr. Qiu, an eyewitness at the scene, introduced that after the girl jumped into the river, the fire department arrived on site at about 7:20 AM to conduct a search and rescue operation. However, due to the floodgate of Haoqiao River being open at the time, the water current was very rapid, and after nearly two hours of searching, the fire fighters were unable to find the body.
It is understood that the girl is approximately between 19 to 20 years old and currently rents a place in Songnan Fourth Village. The two men involved in the entanglement have been taken to the police station for statements.
