The old lady's home is empty
Unique "anti-theft" measures
Hunan news - According to the潇Xiang Morning Post: An 80-year-old woman in Changsha, due to repeated thefts at her home, decided to lock her anti-theft iron door from the inside and instead opened a small door on her security window. Every time she returns home, she carries a wooden ladder from the property management office, then climbs over the guard window to enter her house, and returns the ladder when she goes out. Neighbors say she has 31 keys, all from locks that have been pried open. They express concern for her safety.
At around 1 PM on August 22nd, in the Dong'an Jincheng residential area near the East Station of Changsha, an elderly woman wearing a sun hat and white pants placed a wooden ladder, more than 3 meters high, against the outside of the security window on the second-floor balcony.
The old lady slowly climbed up the ladder, reached above the security window, took out a key, and opened a small door on the security window. She opened the small door, carefully leaned sideways on the bars of the security window, and slowly moved inch by inch into her house.
Local residents said that the old lady’s surname is Tao, and almost everyone in the neighborhood knows about her climbing through the window to get home. Resident Ms. Wang said that this elderly woman enters her home this way every day, carrying the wooden ladder from the property management office.
According to Mrs. Tao, she originally lived in Chaoyang Er Cun but moved here after her place was demolished. "After moving in, my home has been burglarized countless times." Now, she has accumulated 31 keys, all from locks that have been forced open — some are from doors, others from various cabinets in her home.
Mrs. Tao locked the anti-theft iron door from the inside and instead opened a small door on her security window. Each time she returns home, she carries a wooden ladder from the property management office, climbs over the guard window to enter her house, and returns the ladder when she goes out.
