[Xinmin Network・Exclusive Report] At around 0:10 on November 15, on the Zhejiang North Road Bridge, a young man from out-of-town allegedly jumped into the Suzhou River due to romantic entanglements and sought to end his life. Fortunately, with the help of the police and kind-hearted passers-by, he was eventually saved.

According to eyewitnesses, at the time of the incident, as a young man walked to the edge of the Zhejiang North Road Bridge, he suddenly climbed over the railing and jumped down. A man following behind him shouted for help loudly, and passers-by immediately helped call 110 to report the emergency.

Eyewitnesses stated that with the help of kind-hearted passers-by and the police, the man who jumped into the river was rescued onto the riverside concrete embankment. However, the man was emotionally agitated and insisted on not getting back on land. To prevent him from jumping into the river again, the police had no choice but to slowly persuade him. It was understood that the man was about 20 years old and might have jumped because of an argument with his girlfriend earlier in the evening, leading to a momentary lapse in judgment and an attempt to end his life.

After more than 20 minutes of persuasion, the man's emotions slightly calmed down. Considering that after falling into the water, his clothes were soaked and he was chilled, the police took the man onto the water patrol boat and got in touch with the man's family.
