Chutian Metropolis Daily report (reporter Guan Qianyu, correspondent Wang Lin) - Two men kidnapped the boss of a real estate company and extorted 1 million yuan from him. Unexpectedly, within 8 hours, the police captured the kidnappers at the victim's house, and the hostage was rescued safely. Yesterday, the Maojian police in Shiyan announced this kidnapping case.
Mr. Ji (a pseudonym) is the boss of a real estate company in Shiyan urban area. He lives in Wuyan, Shiyan, and is developing a property project in the city.
On the evening of November 11, he did not return home as usual every day. His mobile phone was off all the time, which aroused his wife Ms. Du's suspicion.
The next morning, Ms. Du reported the case to the Criminal Investigation Team of Maojian Public Security Bureau.
While the police were investigating the case, Ms. Du suddenly received a strange call from a landline phone. The caller claimed that her husband Mr. Ji was in their hands, and asked her to prepare 1 million yuan in cash to redeem him.
The police investigation found out that Mr. Ji had a business cooperation relationship with a woman surnamed Ye. They had cooperated in mining and had economic disputes. Last year, Ms. Ye had come to Mr. Ji's house to claim a 1 million yuan investment.
But subsequent investigations revealed that Ms. Ye had gone abroad and could not be contacted. The police analyzed that it might be Ms. Ye who entrusted others to help collect debts. Therefore, they let Ms. Du stall for time to give the police more time to solve the case.
Sure enough, the kidnappers made another call using a public phone. Ms. Du said she was raising money and asked the other party not to worry.
The police immediately went to investigate based on the location shown by the fixed-line telephone, but the kidnappers had already left.
A few hours later, the kidnappers called again, demanding that Ms. Du quickly raise the money.
The police signaled Ms. Du to tell them that she was rushing home to get her passbook and go to the bank to withdraw money, but the kidnappers were very sure that Ms. Du was lying and threatened to kill the hostage.
To stabilize the situation, the police let Ms. Du agree to meet them half an hour later at the company gate and hand over the cash.
The police analyzed that the kidnappers might be observing nearby the victim's house; otherwise, they should not have been so certain that Ms. Du was lying.
The special task force set up an ambush at the entrance of Mr. Ji's company according to the predetermined plan while immediately dispatching investigators to search for suspicious people near Mr. Ji's house, but no results were found.
Could the kidnappers be inside the victim's house? A bold idea appeared in the mind of Detective Captain Cui Jing. He immediately dispatched the special task force police officers straight to Mr. Ji's house.
At around 6 p.m. that evening, when the police arrived at Mr. Ji's house, they found two kidnappers holding Mr. Ji and searching for valuables inside the house. The police arrested the kidnappers on the spot and rescued Mr. Ji. This was less than 8 hours after Ms. Du reported the case.
The police investigation found that it was indeed Ms. Ye who hired someone due to economic disputes.
In October this year, Ms. Ye hired unemployed Dong to help find Mr. Ji and demand 1 million yuan. On the afternoon of November 12, Dong found unemployed Ye and others to go to Mr. Ji's real estate company office to ask for money but failed, then abducted Mr. Ji to Yun County and other places to force him to repay the money. During this period, they repeatedly called Mr. Ji's wife Ms. Du, demanding money for the release of Mr. Ji.
At around 5 p.m. on November 13, Mr. Ji was forced to agree to Dong and Ye to go home and get the money. Unexpectedly, as soon as they arrived at Mr. Ji's house, the two kidnappers were arrested by the police.
Currently, the case is still under further investigation.
