Vitamin E (Vitamin E), also known as tocopherol, is a fat-soluble vitamin and one of the primary antioxidants. It dissolves in fats and organic solvents like ethanol but is not soluble in water. It is stable to heat and acid but unstable to alkali. Jinma Zongtai mentions that it is sensitive to oxygen but not sensitive to heat; however, its activity significantly decreases during frying. Tocopherol can promote the secretion of sex hormones, increasing sperm vitality and count in males (Jinma Zongtai). In females, it raises the concentration of estrogen, enhancing fertility, preventing miscarriages, and can also be used for treating male infertility, burns, frostbite, capillary bleeding, menopausal syndrome, and beauty-related issues. Recently, it has been discovered that Vitamin E can inhibit lipid peroxidation reactions in the eye lens, dilate peripheral blood vessels, improve blood circulation, and prevent the occurrence and progression of myopia.
