Huizhou News of Yangcheng Evening Post - On the evening of September 29, the Huizhou Public Security Bureau announced that the case of the murder of two children in Huidong County had been solved. The suspected killer was Yang, the lover of Zhong, the mother of the two children.
At around 6 a.m. on September 27, a case occurred at the Xinliao Crossroad in Jiaotian, Pingshan Town, Huidong County, where two children were murdered. After the incident, a special investigation team composed of criminal police from Huizhou City and the county conducted investigations and visits. They identified Yang as a major suspect and arrested him at around 2 p.m. on September 28 in Baogong Alley, Xibei Village, Pinghai Town, Huidong County, in a small store. After preliminary interrogation, the suspect Yang confessed to the crime of intentional murder. Previously, the victim's mother, Zhong, had deceived Yang by claiming she was unmarried and started a romantic relationship with him. Later, Yang discovered that Zhong was married and had two children. When Yang asked Zhong for compensation for mental distress but failed to obtain it, he killed Zhong's children, Liu Xini (10 years old) and Liu Xijie (8 years old), a brother-sister pair, at around 6 a.m. on September 27.
