In the afternoon of yesterday, the "seeds of life" donated by Xia Shaoxin, aged 26, have been flown to Shanxi province, bringing a patient the hope of survival. He has become the 133rd hematopoietic stem cell donor in our province.

Xia Shaoshin, aged 26 this year, is a staff member at Zhengzhou Long-distance Bus West Station. His mother Ye Shuhua, aged 51, is an awardee of the Gold Cup for Voluntary Blood Donation in Zhengzhou city. Influenced by his mother, Xia Shaoshin also became an active voluntary blood donor and has donated blood seven times so far.
Three years ago, during a friend gathering, Xia Shaoshin hit it off with a girl and started dating her. "I later found out that she also frequently participated in voluntary blood donations," said Xia Shaoshin. Since they got to know each other, they often went to donate blood together. In 2007, both of them signed up and became volunteer donors of hematopoietic stem cells.
Why is he so enthusiastic about voluntary blood donation? Xia Shaoshin's answer made people laugh: "Our house is just opposite the provincial blood center, so it's very convenient to go and donate blood."
In November 2009, Xia Shaoshin matched with a blood disease patient. Bai Xiaolin, who has already become his wife, was still a little jealous. Yesterday morning, looking at her husband lying on the donation bed, she said: "How did you manage to get ahead of me?"
