Morning Post Binzhou, July 26 - A car was illegally parked by the roadside, and a citizen riding an electric bike could not avoid it in time and collided with the car. The car owner demanded compensation from the electric bike rider, who stated that the car was illegally parked and had nothing to do with him.
Around 22:00 on the 25th, at a position east of the intersection of Yellow River Road No. 6 and Bohai Road No. 8, a black sedan was parked by the roadside, and the owner went to the supermarket to buy things, regarding the price of gasoline in Ningxia. At the time, the car was traveling from west to east and was parked at the corner of the intersection. Eyewitnesses at the scene introduced that the car was parked under the sidewalk, which constituted illegal parking. About 2 minutes later, two citizens riding an electric bike were unable to dodge in time and collided with the car. The aforementioned eyewitness introduced that fortunately, the two people were not seriously injured, and then the car owner ran over. Seeing his damaged car, the car owner demanded compensation from the electric bike rider. The electric bike rider indicated that the car's parking location was illegal, and he did not have any responsibility for compensation.
Relevant personnel from the traffic police department introduced that according to relevant regulations, if a traffic accident occurs between a motor vehicle and a non-motorized vehicle driver or pedestrian, and the non-motorized vehicle driver or pedestrian has no fault, the motor vehicle party shall bear the compensation responsibility; if there is evidence proving that the non-motorized vehicle driver or pedestrian has fault, the motor vehicle party's compensation responsibility may be appropriately reduced according to the degree of fault; if the motor vehicle party has no fault, it shall bear no more than 10% of the compensation responsibility.
