The phenomenon of unauthorized construction is common in some residential areas in our city, especially in some abandoned managed communities, where beautiful green spaces are built over by merchants who only consider their own interests, such as kitchens and warehouses... These acts are deeply hated by the residents.
Yesterday, in response to the unauthorized constructions in residential areas, the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau of Changchun Netmoon Economic Development Zone carried out a concentrated cleanup operation. Seven illegal buildings were forcibly demolished by law enforcement officers, and more than 300 square meters of green space was returned to the citizens.
At 5:30 am yesterday, in front of a family building of Jilin Agricultural University, all members of the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau of Changchun Netmoon Economic Development Zone, wearing steel helmets, were ready for action. Two ditch-digging machines were parked on the side, ready to go at any time.
"These merchants only care about their personal interests and completely disregard the residents. Before this forced demolition, we had issued self-correction notices long ago, but almost none of them carried out the self-demolition. According to the procedures, these illegal constructions must be forcibly demolished today," said Wang Zhiquan, deputy director of the Urban Management and Law Enforcement Bureau of Changchun Netmoon Economic Development Zone.
After setting up warning lines and evacuating people... under the premise of ensuring everything is safe, with the order from Deputy Director Wang Zhiquan, the demolition operation officially began. With the sound of machinery roaring, unauthorized constructions collapsed one by one, followed by applause from the citizens.
"These illegal constructions should have been demolished long ago. We didn't dare to speak up before. Now that the government is supporting us, we have nothing to fear." Grandpa Li, who was watching, said while clapping, and other residents agreed.
"Such abandoned managed communities like this don't have formal property management companies, and the 'three small' phenomena often occur," said Wang Zhiquan. This operation was carried out in response to the city's 150-day urban appearance comprehensive rectification activity. Activities like this will be gradually carried out in batches and in different areas in the next step. The demolition of nearly 300 square meters of seven illegal buildings is just the beginning of the action. In the future, they will continue to carry out cleaning activities based on actual investigations and citizen reports, comprehensively eliminating illegal and non-compliant phenomena in the jurisdiction, and returning a clean, hygienic, and safe environment to the citizens.
