Starting next year, Hefei government announcements, social security information, credit card bills, water/electricity/gas bills, and car violation information will all be quickly delivered to citizens through the "Citizen Mailbox." Previously, only a few cities like Shanghai and Hangzhou had introduced this citizen-friendly measure.

According to the plan, due to the implementation of a real-name system, every Hefei resident with a Citizen Mailbox is equivalent to obtaining a special online pass. Citizens will not only receive more extensive and authoritative government information for free, but they will also have access to comprehensive localized information services. From small tasks such as weather forecast inquiries, commonly used public convenience hotlines, government department supervision and complaint phone numbers, downloading common software, paying water and electricity bills, and receiving bank electronic statements, to larger engagements like submitting suggestions and opinions to the government, participating in interactive discussions or voting, all can be completed without leaving home. The enforcement of the real-name system, along with the credit guarantee from the government, will significantly reduce various issues that exist in regular email accounts, such as excessive spam and inconvenience in obtaining useful information.
