Method one: Increase police force

These two brigades originally had very tight manpower; and the black spot Tongde area, in terms of administrative regions, happens to be at the junction of Baiyun District and Liwan District, i.e., a "no-man's land".
In addition, it is suggested that the traffic police release the northbound traffic flow from various directions in batches at the entrance of Huanshi-Xibay Road; further optimize the timing of the traffic lights, appropriately shorten the red light signal cycle for left turns from west to north on Huanshi West Road into Xibay Road, and lengthen the green light signal cycle.
Method two: Electronic Eye
Police force compilation involves administrative management and cannot "put out fires" in time, what to do? Installing electronic eye monitoring facilities is also a solution. In many intersections where left turns and U-turns are prohibited in the Xibay Road and Xicha Road areas, if electronic cameras are installed, it is believed that they will greatly increase the constraints on drivers who violate traffic rules.
Method three: Build Overpass
The mixing of pedestrians and vehicles at the Tongde intersection poses life-threatening risks. If there were pedestrian overpasses nearby, at least pedestrian safety would be worry-free. Unfortunately, the two pedestrian overpasses promised by the government for construction at Tianxin Garden and Tongde Garden have not been followed up until now.
It is understood that the planning and design of the Tianxin Garden overpass has been completed, and the construction unit has been publicly tendered. The local street office also agrees to the construction, but due to some demolition involved in the overpass, the local village committee refuses the construction. Currently, the municipal department is coordinating with the village committee; the Tongde Garden overpass has also been planned and is currently under construction bidding. The local street office has already agreed to the construction, but the village committee has not yet replied whether it agrees to the construction.
Method four: Shuttle Bus
The rampant use of electric vehicles mainly stems from the lack of convenient shuttle buses. Mr. Yang suggests that in order to eliminate electric vehicles, besides implementing crackdowns, community routes should be opened. If some narrow alleys are too small even for minibuses, battery-powered vehicles supervised by the streets can be considered as an alternative.
Method five: Clear Road Obstacles
Whether it is roadside parking or illegal parking lots, they need to be cleared as soon as possible.
Long-term: Track Transportation Needs to Catch Up
On October 30, Guangzhou's rail transit planning scheme began public display. Since Scheme Two has more and denser rail lines in the Tongde area compared to Scheme One, many residents in the Tongde area hope that Scheme Two can be implemented as soon as possible. In response, Wang Dong, director of the Municipal Planning Bureau, stated that the two schemes are not mutually exclusive. Perhaps the final scheme will incorporate the advantages of both schemes, taking care of everyone's needs.
