Chutian Metropolis Daily - Sister Li is a manager at the People's Square in Chuzhou City. On the evening of May 1st, while preventing a citizen from walking their dog in the square, she was punched. The dog hadn't bitten anyone, but the person ended up hitting her. The involved party responded by saying that it wasn't an intentional hit; it happened because the manager pointed her finger at his face, and when he blocked it, he used too much force. Moreover, after the incident, he had already apologized to Sister Li and paid all her medical expenses.
Manager: Stopped someone walking a dog and got punched
"Seeing him bring his dog into the square, I told him not to bring the dog in. Unexpectedly, he started cursing loudly. Unable to bear it, I pushed him slightly, and then he hit me in the chest," said Sister Li. On the evening of May 1st, as she was preparing to go home after work, while riding her bike through the northeast corner of the square, she noticed a citizen who had previously left the square returned with his dog.
According to Sister Li, when she directly prohibited this citizen, she didn't expect him to start cursing. While enduring silently, she pushed him slightly, but received a punch in the chest from the dog walker. Afterwards, Sister Li went to the hospital for examination and found out that she had soft tissue injuries.
"This citizen often walks his dog in the square. In summer, he even lets his dog bathe in the fountain in the square. I have warned him many times before," said Sister Li. After hitting her, the dog walker tried to leave but was stopped by the onlookers. Finally, Fengdong Police Station took both parties away for investigation.
Dog Walker: It was just an accidental touch
Regarding Sister Li's statement, the dog walker Mr. Zhang denied it: "I didn't intend to hit her. When she pointed her finger at my face, I blocked it and accidentally touched her due to using too much force." According to Mr. Zhang, his home is near the square, and he has walked his dog there before. Later, the staff didn't allow dogs inside, so he hadn't walked his dog in the square for a long time.
Mr. Zhang mentioned that Sister Li wasn't wearing any manager uniform or any identification marks, so he asked her to show her law enforcement credentials. "As a manager, at least the attitude should be good, but her attitude was very poor."
Afterwards, under the mediation of Fengdong Police Station, Mr. Zhang compensated Sister Li for all her medical expenses and apologized to her in person.
Management Office: Citizens should cherish the square environment
In order to create a clean, comfortable, and safe leisure environment for the citizens, Chuzhou City has issued relevant regulations prohibiting bringing pets into the square.
"Often, citizens get scared by dogs and come to the square management office to complain," said Li Yongbing, the director of the People's Square Management Office. He introduced that apart from scaring the citizens, pet droppings also pollute the square environment. "When relatives and friends come to visit Chuzhou, they often bring guests to walk around the square. Therefore, the general public should consciously cherish the square environment."
