Currently, China has 24 nuclear reactors already built and 26 more under construction. On March 1st, after the Fukushima crisis erupted, the Chinese government decided to suspend approval of new nuclear power projects until a safety assessment of existing nuclear power facilities is completed.
What does this mean for China's ability to meet its energy needs? And more broadly, what does it mean for the Chinese economy?
