Somali pirates incident: China's fight against Somali pirates
Chinese Vice Foreign Affairs Minister He Yafei expressed on the 16th in the UN Security Council ministerial-level meeting on Somali pirates issues that China is actively considering sending warships to the Somali waters in the near future to participate in escort activities.
After the UNSC passed Resolution 1851 regarding efforts against Somali pirates, He Yafei said that China welcomes the international community's effective cooperation on fighting Somali pirates. China supports relevant countries' efforts of sending warships according to international law and the UNSC resolutions to combat Somali pirates. China is actively considering sending warships to the Aden Gulf and Somali waters to participate in escort activities in the near future.
