Ink poured onto the lawn, causing the grass to wither

On October 27th, a tip was received this morning from a citizen who informed our hotline about a landscaped lawn on the sidewalk at the intersection of Liberation North Road and Kaimiao Temple Street. A patch of lawn approximately 0.5 square meters in size has been damaged due to someone dumping ink, leading to the grass dying.

Upon receiving the report, the journalist rushed to the mentioned intersection and found that at the southwest corner of the intersection, in front of an advertising store, there was a patch of grass about 0.5 square meters in size that appeared unusually dark in color, with leaves wilting and drooping. Mr. Liu, a local resident, said that yesterday afternoon when he passed by, he saw an employee of this advertising store pouring a bucket of liquid onto the lawn. "When I passed by today, I noticed the state of the lawn and guessed that the liquid might be problematic."

Subsequently, the journalist entered the advertising store to inquire. About seven or eight employees did not deny the incident but claimed it wasn't them who had done it. According to the employees, the liquid was colored ink used for printing advertising banners. It is understood that the chemical substances contained in the colored ink can not only affect plant growth but also pollute the environment. Currently, the journalist has already reported the matter to the urban construction hotline 12319, and the staff indicated they would immediately notify the relevant departments to investigate and handle the situation.
