There is a Chinese idiom, Nanyuan Beizhe, which comes from the "Strategies of the Warring States: Strategies of Wei IV". The original text goes like this: King Wei wanted to attack the State of Zhao. Ji Liang advised him, saying, "I met a person driving his cart northward under Mount Taihang. He told me, 'I am going to the State of Chu.' I asked him, 'Since you are going to Chu, why are you heading north?' He said, 'My horse is good.' I replied, 'Although your horse is good, this is not the way to Chu!' He then said, 'My provisions are plentiful.' I said, 'Even though you have plenty of money, this is not the way to Chu!' He also said, 'The person driving my chariot is very skilled.'"
