A Detailed Explanation of the SMART Principle in Objective Management

S: (Specific) Goals should be clear and specific, allowing both the evaluator and the evaluated to accurately understand the objective.

M: (Measurable) Goals should be quantifiable, so that they can be accurately assessed using the same standards during evaluation.

A: (Attainable) Goals should be achievable with effort, meaning they shouldn't be set too low or too high. If they're too low, they lose significance; if they're too high, they become unattainable.

R: (Relevant) Goals should be relevant to the work. Don't set goals for tasks that are not part of the evaluated person's responsibilities.

T: (Time-bound) Goals should have a time limit and need to be completed within a specified timeframe. Once the time is up, the results must be reviewed.

Special Note: Some interpret this principle slightly differently.
