At 14:28 on May 12, 2008, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Wenchuan, Sichuan. The sudden and merciless earthquake made many children in their prime years instantaneously become homeless earthquake orphans. Many热心people wanted to contribute their love by adopting and caring for these earthquake orphans, but how to adopt earthquake orphans? The adoption of earthquake orphans must be considered in detail and from multiple aspects. The Adoption Law of the People's Republic of China, implemented on April 1, 1992, has made detailed provisions for the conditions of adopters: (1) no children; (2) the ability to raise and educate the adopted person; (3) not suffering from diseases that are medically considered unsuitable for adopting children; (4) at least 30 years old. An adopter should meet all of the above four points simultaneously.
