After taking care of Hongji's posthumous affairs, Xinyi leaves the Hu family mansion with her younger siblings and moves into an old, cramped building in Sham Shui Po. In order to make a living and cover her brother's long-term kidney disease medical expenses, Xinyi joins the entertainment industry under the stage name "Fang Fei," hoping to earn as much money as possible in a short period of time. Xinyi endures hardships while shooting her first movie. Six years pass, and Xinyi has become a well-known supporting actress who often plays villainous roles in films. To provide a better life for her university student sister XinSi and her brother XinYi who has just finished his exams, Xinyi works tirelessly, never letting any small role slip through her fingers. Due to suspicions that XinSi was scammed by street fraudsters, Xinyi accidentally meets Zhang Xueli, a new assistant director on set who happens to be the younger brother of Xueru and is deeply favored by Shouren. Upon learning of Xueli's identity, Xinyi recalls past grievances and assumes he is a spoiled heir, developing a strong dislike for him. Once, during a karaoke outing organized by film producer Mr. Li for the crew, Xinyi is molested, and Xueli comes to her defense. However, Xinyi does not thank him and instead blames him for being socially inept, causing her to offend the boss unnecessarily. An enraged argument ensues, culminating in Xueli making rude remarks and getting slapped by Xinyi, worsening their already strained relationship. When Shouren learns about Xueli being humiliated by Mr. Li at the karaoke event, he decides to teach Mr. Li a lesson in business warfare to stand up for Xueli.
