Introduction to the episodes of the TV series "Comrades", Episode 01:
Liu Xiaolan asks Ding Yihai to help her transport goods with a military vehicle. After Jun Wang knows this, he becomes very angry and tries to stop him. A fierce argument breaks out between Jun Wang and Yi Hai.
When the army learns about this incident, they call the company commander Lin Fapeng, who becomes furious. Jun Wang takes all the responsibility for this matter, but Yi Hai doesn't have the courage to stand up. Meanwhile, Liu Xiaolan is taken to the detention center on suspicion of smuggling. Because of this, Jun Wang is discharged and returns home, while Yi Hai gets promoted to become the company commander. Ai Wen feels very sad when she finds out that Jun Wang was discharged due to committing a mistake. When leaving the army, Jun Wang leaves behind his military medal.
Ding Yihai goes to the detention center to pick up Liu Xiaolan after her release. When Xiaolan asks about Jun Wang, Yi Hai does not tell her the real reason why Jun Wang was discharged.
After returning home, Jun Wang appears very dispirited. He doesn't tell his father, who looks proud of him, that he has been discharged. With a terrible mood, Jun Wang drinks in a tavern, gets into a fight, and is sent to the police station. When Company Commander Lin Fapeng returns Jun Wang's military medal and sees his current state, he becomes very angry and hopes that Jun Wang can pull himself together again.
