"Lee Seon" premiered on September 17, 2007, and has been airing for nearly half a year with almost sixty episodes so far. The viewership ratings have always remained stable within the top three weekly rankings, which is sufficient proof of the success of "Lee Seon" as a historical drama.

"Lee Seon" narrates the life of Lee Seon, a diligent and wise monarch in the history of the Joseon Dynasty. Young Seon grew up in struggles against political enemies. The loneliness of being in high places made him constantly remember his childhood friends, Sung-eon and Da-soo. Later, Sung-eon entered the palace painting institute as an artist and became Seon's confidante. After enduring numerous dangers and ascending the throne, Seon promoted practical learning, appointed capable people, and strived to revitalize the economy and strengthen the country, making significant contributions to the development of the Lee Dynasty.

Director Lee Byung-hoon of "Lee Seon" was also behind the wildly popular historical drama "Dae Jang Geum" across Asia. Starring Lee瑞镇 and Han Ji-min, alongside other talented actors such as Lee Soon-tae, Sung Hyun-ah, and Park Eun-hye, all deliver outstanding performances in the series.
