"Romance Contract" tells the story of a girl Cheng Xiaofeng (played by Lin Yichen) with a boyish personality. Her group of close friends naturally take it upon themselves to help her fulfill this wish and thus bring in swimming champion A-Ken (played by He Junxiang), who once fought one-on-one with Xiaofeng, enticing him to sign a 'Love Contract', instructing him to give Xiaofeng a romantic first love. It turns out that A-Ken, of Sino-Japanese descent, also grew up in a broken home. His father abandoned his sick wife and son, leaving him unable to forgive his father and afraid to love others. Unexpectedly, both are equally stubborn, making their relationship increasingly strained. But just when everyone decides to give up, they start to develop feelings for each other...

The mischievous and cute Lin Yichen, who became popular across mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong through "Trick Kiss," plays a tough girl named Xiaofeng in "Romance Contract" and engages in a battle of love defense and offense with He Junxiang. In the drama, Xiaofeng is the president of the school's kendo club, playing kendo while also hanging out with the boys, a real-life "man-woman." Due to her parents' strained marriage, her sister's failed love, and the consequences of her parents' arguments affecting her as a child, she subconsciously keeps love at arm's length.
