Introduction to the Plot of "Universal Access":
The power dynamics among the silver houses ebb and flow, leading to a series of thrilling business battles. Qi Baichuan (Alan Chan) is a descendant of an official family who survives a wrongful execution of his family and is later taken in as an apprentice by Qiao Benye (David Jiang), the owner of Shanxi's top draft bank, Dingfengsheng. Over the years, Baichuan meets Gaowa Babahar (Guo Xiennei) from the frontier, but due to feelings of inferiority, he dares not express his love for her. On the other hand, Miss Qiao Zhen (Yang Yi), the second daughter of the Qiao family, is in a romance with Zhang Chongwen (Marcus Ma), the son of a grand secretary, but their relationship becomes strained when Chongwen investigates Dingfengsheng on behalf of justice. Meanwhile, Dingfengsheng faces near bankruptcy due to betrayal by its former chief manager Cao Yutai (Liu Dan), while constant extortion by the court adds further strain. As Qiao Benye lies on his deathbed, he entrusts Dingfengsheng to Baichuan, who has helped him overcome numerous crises. While merchants rely on wealth, officials wield power. How will Baichuan lead Dingfengsheng through the dark late-Qing dynasty bureaucracy?
