"Who Are You?" is not just a simple love story but a tale that blends romance with family ties. Yoon Ji-sang plays the role of Cha Seung-ho, a man who was abandoned by his parents as a child and later adopted by an American family. His harsh upbringing has made him extremely cold in nature, portraying him as the bad guy in the series. In contrast, the female lead Ko Ara plays the role of an entrepreneur's daughter, Son Yeong-in. Despite her successful father, she faces tragedy when he unexpectedly passes away. The father's soul, still worried about his young daughter, wanders aimlessly until it finds itself attached to the body of the male protagonist Yoon Ji-sang, but only for three hours each day. Through Yoon Ji-sang's body, the father takes care of his daughter. As Yoon Ji-sang and Ko Ara spend more time together, they develop romantic feelings for each other. This unique "triangular relationship" adds a mysterious element to the series.
Many people suspect that the secondary male character is the villain from the second episode who dialed 119 but didn't complete the call.
However, this theory seems less plausible as evidence mounts.
Firstly, their cars are different models.
Their phones, although both sliding models, have distinct differences upon closer inspection.
The brand logos on the upper-left corner of the phones are obscured in the screenshots. In the case of the villain’s phone, there's an obvious gap between the covered part and the screen.
For the secondary male character, the covered part is tightly attached to the screen.
On the villain’s phone screen, only the battery icon is visible in the upper-right corner.
For the secondary male character, there's also a time display next to the battery icon.
The conversation between the secondary male character and the curator clearly indicates that they want to find the father's other works. If the father were killed, it would not benefit their search but instead increase the difficulty.
The secondary male character also feels the curator is heartless, focusing on finding the paintings right after Ling Yin's father passed away.
Although the secondary male character approached Ling Yin with a purpose - to find the paintings, he will likely fall in love with her eventually, following the usual tragic fate of such characters.
