Episode 14:
Chang-Hui tells Gildong that if he can steal the Seal Sword from the palace, he can save his companions. Inevitably, Gildong must confront his own father, filled with internal conflict. He lets Hong Pansu capture him under the condition that the other companions are released.
While Mo-Nyeo was originally planning to infiltrate the palace to rescue Hong Gildong, she is injured while sneaking into a secret room in the palace, so Yi-Ryeok volunteers to enter the palace instead.
Episode 15:
Chang-Hui learns that Yi-Ryeok has entered the palace and is at a loss for words. Gildong requests a private audience with Emperor Guang-Hui but is stunned when he sees Yi-Ryeok in the king's secret chamber.
Yi-Ryeok looks around for the Seal Sword while Gildong directly faces Emperor Guang-Hui. Seeing the emperor's curiosity about Chang-Hui, Gildong proposes a game.

Yi-Ryeok decides to join Gildong in the mountain hideout, and the two make a lifelong commitment to each other.
