Series Review:

"Swift Sword Hong Gil Dong" differs from previous Korean historical drama themes. It is Korea's first historically-themed light comedy to incorporate modern elements, making it a new-style historical drama. Adapted from the Joseon classical literature "The Story of Hong Gil-dong," it narrates the tale of the righteous thief Hong Gil-dong who steals from the rich to help the poor and fights against corrupt officials. This story has been adapted multiple times into various film and television works. In this version, the traditional image of Hong Gil-dong is overturned, and lead actor Kang Ji-hwan's portrayal of Hong Gil-dong wearing trendy sunglasses has become a topic of conversation among viewers. Notably, 20-year-old rising star Jang Geun-seok, known for his role in "Hwang Jin Yi," plays the character "King" Lee Chang-hui. Jang Geun-seok is an actor who can present diverse faces and charisma depending on the role. In "Swift Sword Hong Gil Dong," he exudes a manly charm and regal presence.

Series Highlights:

The completely revamped image of Hong Gil-dong, along with the participation of beautiful actress Sung Yu-ri, handsome actors Kang Ji-hwan, and Jang Geun-seok, are the biggest highlights of the series.
