The second daughter, Jian Ning (played by Wang Jinghua), and the youngest daughter, Jian Xin (played by Liang Jing), have grown up with their mother (played by Gui YALEI). When this family reunites, a series of changes occur in their lives.

The family is harmonious and happy, having just paid the down payment on their house, and they are happily looking forward to the future. However, one evening, Jian Ning unexpectedly discovers a lump in her breast while taking a shower...

Encouraged by Chen Lisheng, Jian Ning checks into the hospital and undergoes a series of diagnoses, painfully undergoing a mastectomy. The perfectionist Jian Ning cannot face her incomplete self and, influenced by her mother's marriage thoughts, begins uncontrollably suspecting that her husband, Chen Lisheng, is having an affair with his student, Tian Xiaoli. She withdraws from the competition at the hotel, withdraws from normal social life, and locks herself in the madness of increasing suspicion towards Chen Lisheng. Jian Ning repeatedly hurts Chen Lisheng, who repeatedly tolerates her, but she becomes increasingly crazy, taking even more absurd actions based on baseless suspicions. Deeply in love with Jian Ning, Chen Lisheng, after a series of blows, loses hope in their marriage and eventually has a relationship with Tian Xiaoli, which mistakenly ends up in the newspaper, making him a "public enemy of social morality."

After the collapse of her marriage, Jian Ning, in deep pain, discovers a new lump in her chest. At this point, with the help of Dr. Lu Chenfeng (played by Tao Zheru), she begins to unload her psychological burdens and resolutely faces the surgery alone...

Jian Xin, the famous producer and host of a well-known column in the TV station's news department, is a successful woman. She skillfully maneuvers between Director Shao (played by Gao Jingwen), a married man, and her boyfriend, Ding Yinuo (played by Hai Yitian). Jian Ning's illness ignites her long-standing inner fear. From the day she learns that there is a lump in her breast, she urgently runs around for the documentary selection, causing misunderstandings among her friends.

As Jian Xin is about to be hospitalized, her boyfriend, Ding Yinuo, chooses to give up the opportunity to go to Europe and fully takes care of her, greatly touching Jian Xin. During her hospitalization, Jian Xin's condition is special, requiring two biopsies. The hospital repeatedly invites experts and doctors for consultations, but no results are forthcoming. Meanwhile, at the TV station, her competitors seize the opportunity to poach her key staff, leaving her program solely supported by Duoji, a Tibetan person, in a precarious situation. Simultaneously, Director Shao wants to divorce his wife, who has breast cancer, causing a stir throughout the station; and during her time with Ding Yinuo, Jian Xin discovers her own fragility and dependence on Ding Yinuo, leading to awkwardness and doubts about their love.

In the torment of her hospitalization, Jian Xin rekindles her friendship with Duoji, the Tibetan person who chooses to quietly leave at the final stage of leukemia, giving Jian Xin a huge impact; she also meets young bone cancer patient Lu Wei, who gives her immense shock. Unable to bear the immense pressure, Ding Yinuo ultimately breaks up with Jian Xin, and in her pain, Jian Xin begins to re-understand the meaning of life. In the end, Jian Xin resolutely gives up on surgery and decides to adopt Dr. Lu Chenfeng's method of treating with traditional Chinese medicine. She resolves to be discharged from the hospital, no longer paying attention to the pain, and embarks on a journey to Tibet to find Duoji...

Currently airing on CCTV's drama channel, the TV series "Life is Good" tells the story of how a mother and her three daughters bravely face life under the shadow of breast cancer. This female-oriented TV drama gathers the talents of director Guan Hu ("Black Hole"), screenwriter Zhao Dongling ("Ren Changxia"), and stars Gui YALEI, Wang Jinghua, Ding Jiali, and Liang Jing. Zhao Dongling said, "Cancer is just like a landmine, stepping on it triggers the entire story of life."

"Life is Good" is the first domestic TV drama to directly narrate the social issues brought by breast cancer. Lead actress Liang Jing, who is Guan Hu's wife, unfortunately had a miscarriage during filming. She said, "In this play, both Guan Hu and I went through the process of re-understanding life. Guan Hu wrote at the beginning of the film: Dedicated to all mothers."
