Main Characters of It Turns Out That I'm Not Handsome:

Zhuang Junwei (played by JJ Lin)

Age: 20 years old

Department: Sophomore in Information Management Department

Clubs: Pigeon Racing Research Society, Gourmet Club

Nickname: Handsome Guy

Being funny is his nature; pretending to be foolish is his weapon; and piles are his secret. Despite looking only marginally cute, he unfortunately falls in love at first sight with Cindy, the campus beauty. However, Zhuang's path of love is not smooth. The first time he meets Cindy, he gets beaten up by her. The second time they meet, she gives him a limited edition "ugly person card." Determined to improve himself after relentless efforts, it seems like Cindy is gradually accepting him, but life is full of thorns and difficulties. Cindy still rejects him and instead accepts the pursuit of the handsome leader of the basketball club. Once again, Zhuang suffers a ruthless blow. At this point, Qiaoping from the pigeon racing society surprisingly confesses her feelings for Zhuang. Will Zhuang accept Qiaoping, or will he continue waiting for Cindy with unwavering determination?

Si Si (played by Ninet Chen)

Age: 20 years old

Department: Sophomore in Information Management Department

Clubs: Pigeon Racing Research Society, Campus Seven Great Mysteries Truth Investigation Committee

Zhuang's roommate No.1 who always has strange ideas, his special talent is telling cold jokes, and making people feel mentally exhausted within a minute is his forte. Spending more than an hour with him would make you hold a grim determination to either kill him or get rid of him for the benefit of the public. As the vice president of the pigeon racing society, Si Si claims that apart from dedicating himself to the study of pigeon educational psychology, he believes he contributes significantly to the campus, though he has never received recognition from teachers and classmates (Editor's note: Do you think everyone is as brain-damaged as you?). Old Wang the pigeon is Si Si's only soulmate. Just one look, without extra words, they can understand each other's intentions. This touching story of mutual support between a man and a pigeon transcends race.

A Kang (played by Zhang Xun Jie)

Age: 91 years old (Note: This is likely a joke in the script)

Department: Sophomore in Information Management Department

Clubs: Pigeon Racing Research Society

Zhuang's roommate No.2, also the founder and president of the pigeon racing research society, always looks like a rogue and considers himself suave. Having had a few relationships, A Kang self-proclaims himself a womanizer and loves acting as Zhuang's love analyst. His famous saying is: Good teachers make you issue cards until you're annoyed, bad teachers make you receive cards until you're soft! (Editor's note: referring to "good person cards"). Although he talks like this, what drives Zhuang crazy is that following his advice never seems to work! And despite his love for basketball, he conceals his superior ball skills.

Xu Xin Ting (played by Zeng Kai Xuan)

Age: 20 years old

Department: Sophomore in Business Management Department

Clubs: Gourmet Club

Nickname: Gangmei (Means four times prettier than regular pretty girls, latest slang among young people)

Height 169 cm, with chestnut long hair, and a cool elegant style, Cindy is always the center of attention wherever she goes. Though admirers keep coming, Cindy always coldly refuses them, issuing "good person cards" without hesitation. When Zhuang finally gathers all his courage to confess to her, she even issues him a limited edition "ugly person card," completely shattering Zhuang's dream of being handsome. Nobody knows that under Cindy's cold exterior lies a delicate heart. Because she secretly loves her deceased sister's boyfriend, Zhao Wei (Stephen), she doesn't look at other boys her age. But Zhao Wei always sees Cindy as a little sister.

Plot Introduction of It Turns Out That I'm Not Handsome:

Since he could remember, "Zhuang" has always thought of himself as a handsome guy, and this belief was not baseless. From childhood, whether it was relatives, elders, snack stall owners, questionnaire-filling sisters, ticket scalpers, or classmates borrowing notes, everyone sincerely called him "handsome guy." So he truly believed he was handsome... Until two classmates and best friends woke him up from this handsome dream: "Si Si", a roommate full of odd ideas, brimming with humor as the vice president of the pigeon racing society, whose only soulmate is the pigeon "Old Wang". "A Kang", a self-proclaimed suave rogue and self-proclaimed ladykiller, also the founder and president of the pigeon racing society. Having been in a few relationships, A Kang loves acting as Zhuang's love analyst, but what drives Zhuang crazy is that following his advice never seems to work! Actually, Zhuang's connection with "Cindy" dates back much earlier, before they both entered university, he once had an (imperfect) encounter with Cindy. For Cindy, he even joined the gourmet club. Then Zhuang gathered all his courage to confess to Cindy, but Cindy calmly replied with two words: "No way." Zhuang felt as if he'd been shot in the chest. He struggled to ask why, and Cindy looked at him and said, "Because you're too ugly." In that moment, it felt like Zhuang was hit again. With Cindy and Zhuang's complicated relationship, the addition of the beautiful "Qiaoping" forms a triangular equation. This leaves Si Si, already dating the quirky girl "Pinxuan", no time to care about Zhuang, and A Kang facing the hardest love triangle of his life. Unable to help, A Kang also has to deal with the clingy "Mann Mann." All three simultaneously fall into a romantic dilemma, weaving a super romantic campus love comedy filled with laughter and tears, exhaustion and joy.
