TVB Kung Fu Drama "Tai Chi" Episode 7 Online Playback

To watch the star Zhao Wenzhuo as the absolute lead

Skilled in martial arts, Zhao Wenzhuo is from the same school as Jet Li (blog) and Donnie Yen (blog). In recent years, many of the TV series he has starred in have been hot sellers in overseas markets. This time, TVB was very cautious about creating a grand production specifically for Zhao Wenzhuo. The plot of TVB's Kung Fu drama "Tai Chi" episode 7, watching "Tai Chi" episode 7, and viewing "Tai Chi" episode 07 considers "Zhao Wenzhuo to be the youngest, most skilled, and most handsome kung fu emperor on the mainland, and the only kung fu star on the mainland who can guarantee box office success in overseas markets." It is evident that this time TVB wants to leverage Zhao Wenzhuo's super-popular influence on the mainland to bring "Tai Chi" into the competitive mainland market filled with numerous film and television works.

It is reported that since "Tai Chi" was specially created for Zhao Wenzhuo by TVB, the name of the male protagonist in the show was initially set as "Wen Zhuo." Later, it was changed to the current "Wu Ma" at Zhao Wenzhuo's insistence. Regarding this, Zhao Wenzhuo stated: actors serve the role, and he did not want to overly emphasize "Zhao Wenzhuo" himself. Giving the character a specific name would provide him with more imagination and performance space, which would be more beneficial for the creation of the role.

Watching real kung fu fights gives an ultimate thrill

During the filming of "Tai Chi," Zhao Wenzhuo also had his fill of excitement. Besides his primary role as an actor — playing the leading male role of Tai Chi master Wu Ma in the drama — he also took on additional roles behind the scenes such as martial arts consultant and martial arts cinematography director. Zhao Wenzhuo came up with many exciting real combat scenes, compensating for the monotony caused by the lack of computer special effects. Where possible, he avoided using wires to prevent characters from flying around unnecessarily, eliminating flashy martial arts stunts, and returning to the original essence of kung fu films.

Although this is not Zhao Wenzhuo's swan song on the small screen, he openly admitted during interviews that after completing "Tai Chi," he will focus his main energy on movies and attempt more behind-the-scenes work. As a representative figure among kung fu stars, Zhao Wenzhuo also hopes to use "Tai Chi" to summarize "kung fu."

Watching romance: Hu Xinger's unrequited love for Zhao Wenzhuo

In addition to showcasing authentic kung fu that pleases the eyes, the drama also places great emphasis on emotional subplots. In the show, Zhao Wenzhuo plays "Wu Ma," an orphan with a solitary personality who was abandoned by his parents as a child. He experienced various misfortunes during his growth but transformed his thoughts and fate through learning the philosophical Tai Chi. Wu Meiheng, who has just become a mother, makes her comeback to play the close confidante who deeply loves Zhao Wenzhuo and stays by his side all along. Meanwhile, Hu Xinger plays a character who likes Zhao Wenzhuo but fails to gain his love, eventually ending up with the character played by Felix Chung, who deeply loves her.

Additionally, TVB made a grand move by airlifting the entire cast and crew of its annual big drama "Tai Chi" to Yunnan. More than 80% of the scenes were filmed in locations such as Jianshui, Yuanyang, and Yulongwan in Yunnan. The total shooting time in Yunnan lasted three months, with all major and minor actors arriving in Yunnan. Such extensive shooting efforts are rarely seen in TVB’s previous productions.
