Yilu buried her love for Jitong deep inside, working at Longmen Inn during the day and selling medicine at night. Changhui, observing Yilu beside him, noticed changes within himself. A high-interest lender named Choi Seok-ju continuously tormented the common people. Shen Qing, unable to repay the money borrowed from Choi Seok-ju, was to be sold to Qing Dynasty for thirty bushels of rice.
