Governor Dong arrives in Hangzhou to examine the body and also discovers that Xiaodie was poisoned. However, Dong judges the murderer to be Liang and uses brutal torture to force a confession. Huangshang intervenes but is expelled from the court. Huangshang believes the real culprit will destroy the evidence, so he dispatches everyone to lay in wait...
