This series is produced and supervised by Glenn Gordon Caron, who directed "Moonlighting" and is an Emmy Award-winning producer. The show is based on the real-life research of renowned medium Allison DuBois. Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette plays a young wife and mother who has been trying to understand the affairs of the deceased she sees in her dreams since childhood.
As a part-time consultant, Allison goes to the District Attorney's office, using her ability to communicate with the dead and her foresight to help solve some serious criminal cases. She works alongside the enigmatic prosecutor Devalos and others to maintain law and order in the region. Jake Weber plays Allison's husband Joe, who is always Allison's strongest support. Sofia Vassilieva and Maria Lark play the two eldest children Ariel and Bridget. David Cubitt plays Detective Lee Scanlon, while Madison Carabello plays the youngest child Marie Dubois.
Caron serves as the supervisor and producer of this series. Other producers include Kelsey Grammer, Steve Stark, Rene Echevarria, and Ronald L. Schwary, who won an Oscar for "Ordinary People." "Medium" is jointly produced by Picturemaker Productions, Grammnet Productions, and NBC.
