Introduction to the plot of "Heavenly Road in Snow Domain":
In 1953, [1] PLA battalion commander Xiao Jianfei, overseas-returned Xie Yuchen, and former Nationalist Army lieutenant general He Wenbo, under the leadership of General Mu Shengzhong, gathered together during the arduous work of constructing the Qinghai-Tibet highway, vowing to build the Qinghai-Tibet railway. However, after experiencing a series of natural disasters and human misfortunes, the project was shelved. Their sons, in 1973, joined the railway troops, enduring countless hardships to extend the Qinghai-Tibet railway to Golmud. Due to world-class challenges such as permafrost and high-altitude oxygen deficiency, the construction army of 60,000 people stopped advancing at the foot of Kunlun Mountain... Until 2001, Xiao Xiangqian and Xie Shanfeng, who had been stationed for over 20 years at the Fenghuo Mountain permafrost observation station at an altitude of over 4,000 meters, exchanged their lives and blood for valuable scientific research results. The third-generation project commandants Xiao Wancheng, Xie Kunlun, and He Gaoyuan continued the efforts, finally realizing the millennium dream and building the world-class "Heavenly Road in Snow Domain."
The entire series is divided into three parts, [2]the first part reflecting the highway construction situation, the second part reflecting the railway construction from Xining to Golmud, and the third part reflecting the railway construction from Golmud to Lhasa; renowned actor Liu Wei will play General Mu Shengzhong, while Qi Dao, Jiang Tao, and Yin Zhusheng will portray the grandfather-grandson trio of builders across generations. Major outdoor shooting locations in Golmud include General's Building, Kunlun Mountain Pass, and Tanggula Mountain Pass. Outdoor shooting will conclude by the end of the year, with post-production scheduled to begin in May next year. According to executive producer Teng Guoqiang, this TV series will be aired as a tribute for the 60th anniversary celebration of National Day on CCTV's prime-time channel one. The broadcast of the TV series will comprehensively showcase the decades of changes in Golmud and the geographical location, natural scenery of areas like Kekexili, Kunlun Mountains, Tanggula Mountains, as well as the jade used for Olympic medals - Kunlun Jade. This will play a crucial role in accurately positioning Golmud and enhancing its recognition.
