Plot Introduction:

"The New Shaolin Temple," starring Jackie Chan, Andy Lau (Lau Wah), and Nicholas Tse, was filmed in mainland China. Recently, the film released its latest stills and trailer at the Hong Kong Film Festival. In the stills, Lau Wah is seen wearing a stylish military uniform, leading a group of soldiers into the Shaolin Temple, engaging in fierce combat with Wu Jing! Later, Lau Wah seeks refuge at the Shaolin Temple after falling into misfortune, and by the end of the film, there's a silhouette of him with shaven hair. Nicholas Tse, playing the role of a villain for the first time, reveals a sinister expression in the trailer, showcasing another significant leap in his acting skills! Additionally, the film features a special appearance by Jackie Chan, who practices martial arts with a group of young monks, naturally including some action-packed performances.

"The New Shaolin Temple" tells the story of heroes saving the country and its people during the era of warlord strife. Hou Jie (played by Andy Lau), a brave and ruthless warlord who oppresses civilians, is betrayed by his trusted adjutant Cao Man (played by Nicholas Tse), loses his wife Yan Xi (played by Fan Bingbing), and suffers the death of his daughter. Consumed by hatred, he is driven to despair. During this period, he meets Wudao, a cook-monk who has lived in the Shaolin kitchen for a long time but possesses profound understanding of Buddhism (played by Jackie Chan). He also befriends three young monks from the Shaolin Temple: Jingneng (played by Wu Jing), Jinghai (played by Yu Shaoqun), and Jingkong (played by Shi Yanneng), turning enemies into friends. After achieving enlightenment, he becomes a monk and leads the monks to confront Cao Man (played by Nicholas Tse) and his henchman Suo Jiangtu (played by Xiong Xinxin), who betrayed him, vowing to protect the disaster-stricken civilians and the Shaolin Temple amidst the war.
