Katriya Ekthamrongworakul (Janie) is the eldest daughter of Kuhn Chuwit (Woravut Niyomsap) and Khun Janthana (Supranee Jayrinpon). The Ekthamrongworakuls family is in the gemstone business and is quite famous and respected in the jewelry world. Katriya is beautiful, strong-willed, and never one to back down. Katriya has a younger sister named Jeeranan (Sara Leigh), who, in terms of appearance and personality, is like night and day compared to her sister, very different indeed. Sophon (Andrew Cronin) is Katriya's fiancé, but her sister secretly loves him. Out of respect for Katriya, she keeps these feelings buried deep within her heart. One day, Katriya's father Chuwit sends her to Hong Kong to meet her biological mother Hui San, who is on her deathbed due to cancer. At first, she hesitates about whether or not to go, but eventually, she agrees. She brings with her to Hong Kong a cloud-shaped gemstone amulet given to her by her father. Her mother also gave an identical amulet to the only person who had been by her side.
At the Hong Kong airport, her aunt Mee Mee ("Gik" Mayurin Pongphudphun) picks her up and immediately takes her to the hospital to see her dying mother Hui San. In the hospital, mother and daughter embrace and say their final goodbyes. Not long after, her mother Hui San passes away, and Katriya extends her planned stay in Hong Kong to handle her mother’s funeral arrangements. Her time in Hong Kong allows Katriya to learn more about her mother’s family.
Her grandfather is Tao Gae Lor ("Ning" Nirut Sirijanya), a well-known businessman in Hong Kong. Her aunt Mee Mee has a lover named Kang Jin (Deaw Suriyont), but her grandfather opposes their relationship, which is why they have yet to marry. Jing Jing (Pornnapa Theptinnakorn) is another of Katriya's aunts. Jing Jing is a selfish and jealous woman who defrauded the family company. She married Mao Jao (Puchong Yotapitak) and has a stepson named Peter (Tah Warit). Peter is Katriya's age, untrustworthy, and fickle, willing to do anything to get what he wants.
Khun Anthony Jang is another person Katriya meets in Hong Kong. When they first met, she looked down on him because he was her mother’s former lover—the third party that caused her mother to leave her father. Khun Jang has a disabled wife named Suling (Nampueng), who is also a close friend of her mother.
Peter's girlfriend is Pekgee (Patsachon Soopree), who is pregnant with his child. When Peter meets Katriya, he proposes breaking up with Pekgee, leaving her heartbroken. She then tells her brother Phon (Rome Patchada) that Peter left her and refuses to take responsibility for their unborn child.
To keep Peter away from Katriya, Phon puts himself in the way, spending a lot of time with Katriya. This makes his real girlfriend Anna (Ice Apissada) extremely jealous.
After her mother's funeral, Katriya plans to leave Hong Kong, but her aunt Mee Mee does not want her to go. Her grandfather Tao Gae Lor wants Katriya to inherit his business. Katriya shows no interest in the inheritance, leading to an argument with her grandfather over her Thai and Chinese heritage. During their argument, her grandfather suffers a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital. He needs immediate surgery but refuses until Katriya agrees to take over the family business. To save her grandfather, she reluctantly agrees.
In Bangkok, Sophon and Katriya's sister Jeeranan spend a lot of time together. One evening, Sophon and Jeeranan attend a party where Sophon drinks heavily. Jeeranan spends the night with him, later discovering she is carrying his child. As a gentleman, Sophon agrees to take responsibility. Katriya learns from her father about her sister and fiancé's situation, shocked that the man she had been with for years got her beloved sister pregnant.
Katriya confides in Phon about her situation, and he listens to her. Over time, Katriya begins to feel comfortable around him and realizes she loves him.
In business, Katriya leads her grandfather's company into a new phase, developing it rapidly. They become competitors with Khun Jang's company. Their competition over business gets out of control, resulting in stolen gems and damaged reputations.
