Plot Introduction:

This is a story of a generation of Confucian merchants in old China who struggled and strove for survival in turbulent times, eventually transforming and being reborn while benefiting all under heaven.

This is the fourth work by Li Yapeng as both producer and actor after "Beach", "Witness", and "Our Marriage". The investment exceeded 50 million yuan, making it a grand production of a Republican era drama. Directed by Yang Xiaoxiong, who previously worked as a cinematographer in Feng Xiaogang's films "Never Ending" and "I Am Your Father" before becoming a director. It also features many accomplished actors such as Ti Lung, Xu Huanshan, Zhao Lixin, and Wu Guan, making it a powerful production.

The series tells the story of the struggle between the "Hengjiang" vinegar workshop family in Zhenjiang during the Republican era and Japanese enterprises for the sake of national interests. It reflects the tragic and arduous fate of Chinese capitalists in old China filled with blood and tears. In terms of subject matter, it takes a unique approach by using the vinegar brewing industry as the backdrop of the story, pioneering the brewing industry theme in domestic TV dramas. The cruel commercial battles under the tumultuous political situation, the deadly struggles between various factions in old China, the helpless bitterness of brothers at odds, and the complex emotional entanglements make "Blood Scent" highly watchable.
