The much-anticipated annual drama "The Beauty's Stratagem" finally unveiled its mysterious veil, with the national premiere on Shanghai TV Drama Channel at 20:38 on March 15, 2010. The script was written by renowned screenwriter Yu Zheng, co-produced by Zijun Splendor, Quan Sheng Times, and Yu Zheng Studio. The TV series depicts the scheming and intellectual battles among the beauties in the alluring and luxurious harem of the Han Dynasty, behind the curtains. It has been hailed by fans as Yu Zheng's most anticipated work to date.
In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, young Dou Yifang was pursued and killed due to her mother being involved in a palace struggle, resulting in the execution of her entire family. Later, she was mistakenly selected as a slave and became a servant in the palace.
