The Mexican drama "Love in the Wine Country" shows audiences a variety of unique cultural flavors.
Old estate owner Amador passes away, and members of the Montalvo family come from all over to attend the funeral, including the eldest son Felipe, his wife Constanza, the second son Bruno and his wife Fedra, the second daughter Sophia, and the youngest daughter Daniela. In his will, Amador declared that whichever grandson, Rodrigo or Aaron, first has a son, all the Montalvo family's property would be inherited by this boy. During the mourning ceremony, the female worker Gaviota catches Rodrigo’s attention. After several encounters, Gaviota and Rodrigo fall in love with each other. Aaron is a playboy who is determined to secure the inheritance. He instructs his fiancée Minerva to prepare for their wedding as soon as possible in Mexico City but indulges in nightly revelries after returning to London. Gaviota discovers she is pregnant but cannot reach Rodrigo no matter what. Just as she is anxious, photographer Rolando tells Gaviota he can help her become a model in Europe. Gaviota is overjoyed. However, upon arriving in Paris, Gaviota realizes she has been sold into a brothel. She manages to escape from the cage with her life. A kind-hearted boss named Benvenuto takes her in and funds her journey to London to search for Rodrigo. As soon as Gaviota arrives in London, she meets Rodrigo, the man she misses day and night on the road. Unfortunately, while crossing the street, she gets hit by a car. The baby miscarries, and Gaviota is devastated. Meanwhile, Rodrigo rushes back to Mexico due to his father's sudden death. In Mexico, Rodrigo meets Isadora, who falls in love with him at first sight.
Gaviota decides to pull herself together in the hospital bed. While recovering, she learns various languages from Sister Felicity. At Aaron and Minerva's wedding, Isadora openly and passionately expresses her feelings to Rodrigo, only to be rejected. Rodrigo tells her that his heart belongs to someone else. After his father's funeral, Rodrigo hears about Gaviota becoming a prostitute in Europe. Believing it to be true, he is overwhelmed with pain and decides to propose to Isadora to forget about Gaviota. Rodrigo and Isadora hold their wedding on March 21st, but on their wedding night, Rodrigo gets drunk and does not want to face the devoted Isadora.
After fully recovering, Gaviota returns to the estate after a long journey, only to find out that Rodrigo is already married. When Rodrigo learns that Gaviota has returned, he can no longer focus on his honeymoon with Isadora and immediately finds Gaviota to question why she went to Europe. Enraged, Gaviota drives him out. Gaviota recounts her experiences in Europe to Clarita, leaving Clarita both saddened and angry. Clarita shares Gaviota's story with Rodrigo. Regretful, Rodrigo tries to seek Gaviota's forgiveness but is refused. Determined, he decides to divorce Isadora, but the next day he finds that Gaviota and her mother have quietly left the estate.
Gaviota and her mother arrive in Mexico City, where Mrs. Jose, a kind-hearted person, helps them find a place to live. Gaviota becomes a receptionist at a hotel. Her command of multiple languages impresses Manager Maximino but incurs the jealousy of HR Director Flavia. Rodrigo proposes divorce to Isadora and sends people to look for Gaviota, which infuriates Isadora. Later, Isadora lies about falling off a horse and getting injured, tricking Rodrigo back to her side. Upon learning that Rodrigo and Gaviota once had a child, Isadora becomes more anxious and informs Minerva about it.
Upon hearing that Rodrigo and Gaviota once had a child, Aaron panics but still cannot change his promiscuous nature. On one hand, he urges Minerva to hurry up and conceive a child; on the other hand, he continues to fool around with his mistress. To build a career, Gaviota signs up for correspondence courses and buys her mother a sewing machine and television through installment payments. Time flies, and before they know it, Gaviota has been away from the estate for over a year, and Rodrigo still hasn't found her whereabouts. Finally, Minerva becomes pregnant and goes to the company to share the news with her husband. However, she sees Aaron fooling around with secretary Yovia in the office and burns with anger.
