The story of Season 8 of "24" will take place in New York. (The show is still mainly filmed in Los Angeles, with some scenes shot in New York). Meanwhile, the long-missed CTU (Counter-Terrorism Unit) will make a powerful comeback.
Since the main battlefield has changed to New York, it will be a completely new anti-terrorism team - probably the New York branch reorganized after the dissolution of CTU. The new director is an MBA-type talent with a sharp mind, named Brian Hastings. Two agents in their 20s (one male and one female) will also debut under his leadership. Among the returning characters are computer genius Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub), FBI agent Renee (Annie Wersching), and President Taylor (Cherry Jones). The new round of crises is even related to Renee's past.
In addition, as previously reported, Anil Kapoor, the Indian actor who played the host in the movie "Slumdog Millionaire," officially joins Season 8 to play Arman Hashemi, a Middle Eastern leader who came to the United States to accomplish a mission for peace.
