The 2010 emotional drama "Peers" (35 episodes in total) tells the story of the "peers" who grew up with the People's Republic of China. The vivid and realistic portrayal of life is intertwined with a sense of history, reflecting the mental journey of a generation as well as the trajectory of the times' development.

Synopsis:

"Peers" uses the development process of the People's Republic of China as its backdrop. The protagonists, Liu Jiefang, Tong Nannan, Li Huailin, Lin Hong, etc., although experiencing different careers, lives, and family changes, are all closely related to the fate of the country. They were born in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China and attended school in the 1950s and 60s. In the later stages of the Cultural Revolution, they graduated from high school; some joined the army, some went to factories, and more went to rural areas for re-education. After entering society, their experiences formed a huge contrast with their psychological expectations. Some became dispirited, some became despondent, some thought deeply, and some strived hard. This series conducted a comprehensive and multi-angle scan of China over the past sixty years, from the military to the countryside, from factories to schools, witnessing the glorious journey that New China has taken over these 60 years. Moreover, while focusing on describing the "peers" of the People's Republic of China, the series also devoted considerable space to portraying their children, the first batch of the "post-80s" generation, and their survival status.
