Synopsis of Sword:

Wu Kefeng's fellow countryman officer Ji Shaokang had an affair with the maid Wang Hanmei in their hometown, which resulted in her giving birth to a son. Ji's father forced Wang Hanmei to marry his younger townsman Wu Kefeng. Wu’s parents were understanding and willing to take her in, but Wu Kefeng felt conflicted due to Wang Hanmei's relationship with Ji Shaokang and his unclear political stance. Coinciding with the fall of the nation, Wu Kefeng left his hometown with pain and determination, embarking on the path of resistance, leaving family matters behind.
On the eve of the city's fall, Wu's mother-in-law passed away, and Hanmei searched for her husband to report the death, getting lost in the chaos and losing her only son.
