Synopsis:
This show is also created by the Emmy-winning duo Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (Arrested Development). Most sitcoms in the past have focused on the four major elements of "love", "family", "life", and "work", but this show takes a different approach and focuses on higher education. CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" is one of the successful examples of this type in recent years. How does the United States solve the problem of "difficulty in studying"? How do adults who have entered society but want to continue their higher education receive it? This sitcom answers these questions to some extent.
The students at Greendale Community College are somewhat "special". It's not that they have any physical defects, but rather because of their diverse backgrounds - there are "underachievers" from high school, recently divorced housewives, and elderly people who believe in "learning until old age". Without the sacredness of an ivory tower, community colleges fulfill these people's dreams of "higher education".
The protagonist is a fast-talking lawyer (played by Joel McHale) who originally had a college degree, but it was invalidated due to unforeseen circumstances. Unable to return to school for further studies, he chooses to join the community university. His active mind quickly leads him to make a group of friends and organize a study seminar among them. In fact, they may know each other better than they know their textbooks and homework, which is more profound and valuable.
Life is short, don't waste your prime years, that's what this show wants to tell us.
