Synopsis:
"Peers" takes the development process of the People's Republic of China as its background. The protagonists Liu Jiefang, Tong Nannan, Li Huailin, Lin Hong, etc., although each experiencing different careers, lives, and family changes, are all closely related to the fate of the country. They were born in the early years of the founding of the People's Republic, went to school in the 1950s and 60s, and graduated from high school in the later stages of the "Cultural Revolution." Some joined the army, some entered factories, and even more became part of rural work teams; after entering society, their experiences formed a huge contrast with their psychological expectations, leading some to fall into despair, others to become disheartened, some to reflect, and others to strive.
