Plot Summary:
Lian Shuangchun (Paula Chan), with a pitiful background, was forced to sell herself into marriage as a concubine to the Guan family. Unexpectedly, her husband dies suddenly, and Lady Wang Ruolan (Snowflake) suffers a shock that leaves her mentally impaired. Shuangchun takes on the responsibility of caring for the Guan family and manages their small tavern. Ma Yongzhen (Aaron Kwok) travels around with his accomplice Lisi Mei (Chloe Zhang), swindling people until they are exposed by Shuangchun. However, Ruolan mistakes Yongzhen for her elder brother and clings onto him desperately. Seizing this opportunity, Yongzhen joins the tavern staff to continue his fraudulent schemes. But after going through several small incidents together, the two not only resolve their past grievances but also develop feelings for each other, leaving Shuangchun torn between Yongzhen and her childhood friend Liang Jiumei (Gary Gao).
