Plot Introduction:
The story revolves around Peach Blossom Town, a simple small town where the residents make a living by brewing peach red wine and selling handmade crafts. The innkeeper, Wan Xiuzhen (played by Constance Chan), inherited her father's tavern business and grew up with Xiong Jiu (played by Raymond Wong). They once had happy days together making wine. However, after becoming the concubine of the town mayor Qiu Ba, she appears to have changed along with the transformation of Peach Blossom Town, becoming materialistic and fierce, which makes her lose the courage to accept Xiong Jiu's love. Lin Xiao (played by Maggie Cheung), a fallen aristocrat, also develops deep feelings for Qiu Zheng (played by Yan Kuan) amidst the Japanese attack. Eventually, when the Japanese army enters the city, the townsfolk, including Wan Xiuzhen, do not retreat. Xiuzhen holds on to two brave men amidst the fiery chaos, never parting until death...
