Plot Summary for 24 Season 8 Episode 6:
The eighth season of "24" begins in New York, home to the iconic Statue of Liberty. On this new day, CTU reopens under the leadership of Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson, Forrest Gump), a graduate with an MBA and a sharp mind. Former Marine Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) joins the team hoping to follow in Jack Bauer's footsteps, responsible for field operations. New additions to CTU include data analysis expert Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff, Battlestar Galactica) and systems analysis expert Arlo Glass (John Boyd). Rob Weiss (Chris Diamantopoulos) becomes the new Chief of Staff for President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones), while journalist Meredith Reed (Jennifer Westfeldt, Grey's Anatomy) also gets entangled in the events of this day.
In addition to Jack and the President, Chloe (played by Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Renee Walker (played by Annie Wersching) return for the eighth season. Bollywood star Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire) makes his American television debut as Omar Hassan, a Middle Eastern leader on a peace mission in the United States.
