Plot Summary:
This is a story about people around the world who discover they have extraordinary superpowers and try to use these powers to change their lives.
The producer of Heroes, Brian Fuller, said that the season finale of Season 3 will set the tone for the stories in Season 4. "We spent a lot of time discussing with the writers how the stories should develop in Season 4. Basically, the last episode of this season, which is Episode 25, is similar to previous endings, opening a new chapter for Heroes."
The main characters are set as follows:
An Indian genetics professor, after his father went missing, he rushed to New York and began exploring a mysterious theory - some ordinary people may have superpowers.
A dreamer, trying to convince his politician brother that he can fly.
A high school cheerleader, she finds herself invulnerable to weapons.
A Las Vegas stripper, she discovers that she can teleport and travel between two different places instantly.
A prisoner wakes up to find himself mysteriously outside the walls.
A talented painter whose life and relationship with his girlfriend were destroyed by drugs, yet he discovers he can paint visions of the future.
A police officer who seems to rely purely on luck to solve cases actually has the power of telepathy.
In Japan, a young man can stop time purely through mental power.
When the shadow of an eclipse falls on the Earth, an Indian genetics professor discovers a shocking secret due to his father's strange disappearance: superpowers are hidden within many ordinary people. A young dreamer, 30-year-old Peter Petrelli tries to prove to his novelist brother that he can fly; 17-year-old high school cheerleader Claire Bennet finds herself completely immune to physical harm; 33-year-old Las Vegas stripper Niki Sanders, struggling to support her son, discovers she can change the image in the mirror; 31-year-old D.L. Hawkins twice tricks the prison authorities because he has the power to pass through walls; 28-year-old artist Diego Medina, a drug addict whose addiction ruined his life and love, but when he gets high, he can depict future events through his brush; Los Angeles patrolman Matt Parkman, because he has the ability to hear people's thoughts, is sent to chase a cunning serial killer; 24-year-old Japanese comic fan Hiro Makamura can make time stop by wishing it so.
Where do these superpowers come from? What does it mean for these superhuman heroes? When enemies who seek to exploit their superpowers for their own sinister purposes appear, these superpower heroes instinctively gather together to fight against common enemies and also to save the entire world.
"Heroes" is NBC's latest sci-fi TV series that premiered in September 2006. Heroes focuses on various people with special abilities around the world and develops the whole story around them. Initially, the protagonists of Heroes lived ordinary lives like everyone else, but they gradually realized they had certain traits.
The ambitious Heroes continues to recruit for its fourth season. Ray Park ("The Phantom Menace," "X-Men") will play a super-powered "knife thrower"; Deannne Bray ("The L Word") will play a super-powered deaf woman; Robert Knepper ("Prison Break") will play a super-powered villain, appearing in at least six episodes. As previously reported, Madeline Zima ("Californication") will play Claire's college roommate, who also has superpowers.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors that the soul of the show, Bryan Fuller, might leave the production team to work on a new NBC series (possibly "Day One" or "Caprica"). If the rumors are true, Heroes will lose its last hope. Currently, Bryan Fuller serves as a "production consultant" for Heroes.
Executive Producer Tim Kring revealed the basic situation of Season 4. He said that one of the themes of Season 4 is to discuss the issue of how superhumans "should live" - should they hide their light under a bushel, or should they reveal their superpowers to the world and live honestly?
Tim Kring said that the story of Season 4 will focus on Claire. Claire attends university in Washington, her parents are separated, and she has to deal with "mysterious suicides" happening on campus (Veronica Mars style?). The "roommate" played by Madeline Zima is undoubtedly crucial in this plot.
Tim Kring said that Peter Petrelli will be far away from his family and friends, becoming a "lone ranger" saving others, just like Batman in "The Dark Knight." Peter will meet a new "love interest" in this season, a powerful woman who will change his life and destiny.
Sylar will eventually "break free" from Nathan Petrelli's "skin"; Matt Parkman's grudge with Sylar makes him unable to live a normal life with his wife and children. Angela Petrelli and HRG may found a new "Company," but it won't be as radical as the previous one. And Hiro may significantly reduce the number of time travels in Season 4 (or even stop using it).
