Series Introduction:

This is CBS's most popular new series this year, starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies, known for her excellent performances in "ER", "Mists of Avalon", and "The Lost Room". The story mainly describes how after politician Peter (Chris Noth) is imprisoned due to sexual scandals and political scandals, his wife Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) has no choice but to end her life as a "housewife" and independently take on the responsibility of supporting her family. Ignoring her husband's betrayal and negative public impact, just the strange looks cast by others are enough to make Alicia, such a politician's wife, too ashamed to leave her house. However, Alicia was not frightened by difficulties; she not only had to step out into society but also had to pick up her pre-marriage career - defense lawyer.

As a junior partner at a well-known Chicago law firm, Alicia was welcomed by her old friend Will Gardner (Josh Charles). Will was Alicia's classmate during her time at law school and is also a senior member of this law firm. He was very happy to see Alicia return and wanted to see what kind of performance the once-renowned female powerhouse would show in court after thirteen years. Alicia also received strong promotion and guidance from Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), the top litigation attorney at the company, which made her feel somewhat honored and grateful. But she soon discovered that these "guidances" came with conditions; Diane wasn't as "enthusiastic" as she appeared. To achieve success, Alicia could only rely on herself.

Alicia's main competitor at the company was a young man in his twenties named Cary (Matt Czuchry). He recently graduated from Harvard University and appears to be very friendly on the surface. In fact, to ensure his position within the company and to obtain the coveted "senior partner" position, he wouldn't hesitate to use any means necessary. If Alicia became an obstacle for him, he would remove her without hesitation. Fortunately, Alicia wasn't alone in the company; Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), who was responsible for investigation work, was Alicia's strongest supporter.

"Confidence every day," Alicia understands the meaning of this phrase. From being the despised wife of a politician to becoming a reinvigorated professional woman, the road might be long, but Alicia doesn't care. She wants to live for herself and also needs to plan early for her 14-year-old son Zach (Graham Phillips) and her 13-year-old daughter Grace (Makenzie Vega). For so many years, Alicia has felt for the first time that fate is in her own hands; she is no longer the weak, manipulable "virtuous wife", but a free woman.
