Synopsis:
This drama tells the story of Zhang Yaodong, a grassroots anti-pickpocketing police officer who is locally renowned as the "anti-pickpocketing hero." One day, Zhang Yaodong catches Qin Xiangming in the act of theft and finds a diagnosis certificate indicating that Xiangming has mid-stage pulmonary tuberculosis. It turns out that Xiangming's mother suffers from severe heart disease, and their family is extremely impoverished. Zhang Yaodong sends Xiangming to the detention center but takes time off to visit his mother, coinciding with her having a heart attack, and he promptly sends her to the hospital.
The pickpocket nicknamed "Doctor" is highly skilled but is unexpectedly caught, shocking his master Lao Jiaqian. This makes Lao Jiaqian very curious about Zhang Yaodong, so he decides to come out of retirement to meet Zhang Yaodong, boasting that he will steal his work permit.
Upon hearing the news of Lao Jiaqian, Zhang Yaodong quickly deploys a plan but unexpectedly catches an old man who is not Lao Jiaqian but another unrelated veteran pickpocket. This causes Lao Jiaqian to secretly admire Zhang Yaodong, but now he is cornered and must take a desperate gamble. With only a few days left until his birthday, he continues to play cat-and-mouse games with Zhang Yaodong. However, on the day of his birthday, he doesn't escape Zhang Yaodong's keen eye and is caught red-handed, leading to Lao Jiaqian's arrest.
Zhang Yaodong receives a challenge written with newspaper clippings, signed by "Jueye." This mysterious Jueye steals exactly eight bags daily and delivers half of them to the police station for Zhang Yaodong's personal receipt.
